- Official Opening of Paris Retail Week.
- Presentation of the results of the Shopper study of Havas Paris: "retail gets out of the rational and reaches new emotional experiences"
- Round table : With the arrival of the internet, m-commerce, social networks and e-commerce, the retail sector has demonstrated a remarkable ability to keep reinventing itself - it’s dynamic!
The availability of data has provided an opportunity to rehumanise the consumer. Contrary to expectations, the vast amount of data collected does not pigeonhole customers. It actually gives them back their names and personalities.
So live retail would not be simply a purchasing experience but a properly conducted transaction - one which involves genuine collaboration rather than a power relationship.
Therefore the challenges of capturing live data are huge ... the point of sale analysis is here at the heart of the link between the product and the consumer. What about the collection and its supervision? Real-time operation for tomorrow?

Virtual reality and augmented reality are perfect UX tools which enable retailers to turn the purchasing act into a purchasing experience.

However, we must beware of the “wow” effect. Consumers are astute, they are familiar with the market and the technologies - they are not easily fooled. These technologies must add value; they have to be more than just window dressing.

Live retail, which constitutes a return to authentic commerce, is not however incompatible with these technologies; it can even embrace them and create a true-to-life customer experience. So are we now entering the era of v-commerce?
