1. According to you, what are the main trends and innovations in your field market?

The key news in our market relates to   new payment solutions such as QR Code, wallets, and mobile payments. These solutions represent the willingness of merchants to satisfy their clients demands while accepting any new alternative methods of payment no matter which channel is used (Omni channel payments).

The main trends are for frictionless payments, which means making the payment experience as short and seamless as possible. For example with the development of self-check-in, where traditional cash registers are now being  replaced with semi-attended kiosks. Moreover, there is a general trend which is the fusion of the physical marketplace with the virtual one, this means that the shop becomes more of a showroom where the final client ends up buying online if their articles are not available in store.

Regarding innovations, an increasing number of retailers create their own wallet with the aim of personalizing the client’s experience. The goal of this approach is to integrate new functions to improve their knowledge on their clients brand, and is associated with business intelligence tools. Payment providers are required to solve the need of offering payment solutions which are continuously evolving, whilst taking into account industry compliance regulations, and providing consumers withflexible solution that’s easy to use.
